About Abinash Bohara
Abinash Bohara is a Nepali right-arm medium-fast bowler retained by Sudurpaschim Royals for a third NPL season, and he owns a piece of franchise history: three wickets in the Royals' first-ever match. For Nepal he has become the designated death bowler, with a T20I best of 6 for 11. Born in Salyan in July 1997, he pairs yorker-heavy closing overs with enough new-ball swing to ask questions up front. His international arc began with a T20I debut against the UAE in January 2019 and an ODI debut against Oman at Kirtipur in February 2020. The 6 for 11 remains the standout single-spell figure in the verified record behind this profile, the kind of return that turned a squad bowler into Nepal's trusted man at the death.
Playing style and strengths
Bohara's craft is the hardest job in T20 bowling: defending runs when batters are swinging at everything. His yorker-heavy method targets the blockhole in the closing overs, denying the clean hitting arc that finishers need, and the new-ball swing noted in his profile gives him a second use up front when conditions offer movement. The 6 for 11 T20I best is the statistical proof of the skill; figures like that do not happen by accident when batters are set and attacking. For the Royals he is a phase specialist rather than a four-overs-anywhere bowler. Airee holds him for the overs where yorker execution matters most, and his medium-fast pace, rather than express speed, makes accuracy and nerve the currency of his success.
Abinash Bohara's role at Sudurpaschim Royals in Season 3
In Season 3, Bohara is the Nepali anchor of an attack led by overseas spearhead Scott Kuggeleijn. With Kuggeleijn taking the new ball and McMullen offering medium-pace overs, Bohara's death-overs specialism is the piece that completes Airee's endgame: the captain can pair Kuggeleijn's pace with Bohara's yorkers across the final four overs. Retained for a third straight season, and a wicket-taker in the franchise's very first match, he carries the trust factor that matters when a chase is tightening. Behind him, Hemant Dhami offers middle-overs strike bowling, but the closing overs remain Bohara's territory, the same role Nepal's national side handed him first.
