The Siddhartha Bank Nepal Premier League operates on an internationally recognized points calculation system supervised by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN). Each franchise engages in seven group-stage games. The standings determine tournament progression, seeding, and home-advantage benefits.
Net Run Rate (NRR) Calculation
Net Run Rate is calculated by deducting the average runs per over conceded by a team from the average runs per over scored by that team throughout the tournament. When a side is bowled out within 20 overs, their run rate is calculated over the full quota of 20 overs rather than the overs actually batted. In rain-shortened encounters, revised Duckworth-Lewis-Stern targets and overs quotas dictate the calculation.
Playoff Pathway (IPL Format)
The top two franchises on the points table earn two opportunities to reach the championship match. The winner of Qualifier 1 (1st vs 2nd) proceeds straight to the Grand Finale. The loser of Qualifier 1 receives a second lifeline by playing the winner of the Eliminator (3rd vs 4th) in Qualifier 2. The 7th and 8th placed sides bow out after the preliminary phase. Season 3 playoff dates: Qualifier 1 on November 17, the Eliminator on November 18, Qualifier 2 on November 19 and the Final on November 21, 2026 — every playoff starts at 5:00 PM NST at TU Ground, Kirtipur.
