Bibek Kumar Yadav is a Nepal all-rounder who will represent Chitwan Rhinos in NPL Season 3. Chitwan made him its headline domestic purchase at the Season 3 auction, signing the Category A all-rounder for NPR 15 lakh. That made him the squad's most expensive disclosed domestic signing, taking over half of Chitwan's NPR 26 lakh spend. Category A is the auction's top domestic bracket, so the figure says first-XI cornerstone, not squad depth.
With only three overseas signings, Yadav's two-skill game buys the captain the flexibility the side needs. His game must complement rather than duplicate the all-round presence of Bopara and Raza, and the Nepal Premier League 2026 is where the statement signing has to produce.
About Bibek Kumar Yadav
Bibek Kumar Yadav was Chitwan Rhinos' headline domestic purchase at the Season 3 auction, signed for NPR 15 lakh as a Category A all-rounder. His price — more than double the combined cost of the other five domestic buys — made him the most expensive disclosed domestic signing in the squad. The franchise framed the capture as its major auction splash, the move around which its recruitment was built.
Category A is the auction's top domestic bracket, and 15 lakh is over half of Chitwan's NPR 26 lakh total spend. That number is the franchise telling the league what it thinks: this is not squad depth, it is a first-XI cornerstone bought at cornerstone money. His arc is now the season's highest-pressure domestic story — the splash that has to splash.
Playing style and strengths
As a Category A all-rounder, Yadav was bought to do two jobs, and the price says both must be first-XI standard. The all-rounder's T20 value is in the XI flexibility he buys: a sixth bowling option who can also bat in the top seven lets a captain carry an extra specialist somewhere else. At Chitwan, that flexibility is gold — with only three overseas signings, the domestic all-rounder is the lever that balances the side, and 15 lakh is the cost of a lever that cannot break.
The competition for that balance is real. Ravi Bopara and Sikandar Raza arrive as overseas all-rounders with more than 13,000 international runs between them, which means Yadav's two-skill game must complement rather than duplicate theirs. Where Bopara and Raza bring middle-order timing and vast league experience, the domestic all-rounder's edge is availability and role clarity: he is Chitwan's, fully, for every selection meeting of the season. The franchise built its recruitment around him — now the recruitment has to be built around his output.
Bibek Kumar Yadav's role at Chitwan Rhinos in Season 3
Yadav's Season 3 role is the one the auction price demands: a locked-in XI place as the domestic all-rounder. In a sixteen-player squad, the 15-lakh signing does not sit on the bench while 2-lakh buys play — the economics alone make him the first domestic name on the teamsheet, the player the combination is picked around. Expect him in the middle order with a full bowling quota, the domestic bridge between the overseas stars and the local specialists.
The squad context sharpens the brief. Captain Kushal Malla (slow left-arm orthodox, 20 T20I wickets) and Raza (off-spin) already give Chitwan elite spin-all-round options, so Yadav's overs must be earned on output, not reputation. Alongside fellow big-money domestic Dev Khanal (15 lakh, retained) and the seven-man retained core, he is one of the faces of the rebuild from two wins — the auction's statement signing, and statements need scorecards.
