Chitwan RhinosKamal Singh Airee is a Nepal right-arm medium-fast bowler who will represent Chitwan Rhinos in NPL Season 3. Chitwan's NPR 10 lakh Category B buy in 2024, he has stayed through three consecutive campaigns. His international numbers explain the faith: ten T20Is, fifteen wickets at 14.80, best of 3 for 15. He debuted in T20Is against Malaysia in April 2021 and in ODIs against Oman in February 2020, attacking the stumps to bring bowled and lbw into every over.
He is the domestic pace leader: the retained seamer around whom the auction trio fight for places, and the new-ball partner for Sana's left-arm angle. Three campaigns have made him the attack's institutional memory in the Nepal Premier League 2026.
About Kamal Singh Airee
Kamal Singh Airee is the domestic seamer Chitwan has now kept through three consecutive campaigns, first bought for NPR 10 lakh in Category B at the inaugural 2024 auction. His international numbers explain the faith: ten T20Is, fifteen wickets at 14.80, best of 3 for 15. A right-arm medium-fast bowler who attacks the stumps, he is the retained stability around which the auction-bought seamers must fight for places.
The international numbers explain a faith the franchise has now renewed twice: a T20I debut against Malaysia in April 2021, an ODI debut against Oman in February 2020, and a wicket-taking record — not a containing one — across ten T20 internationals. Three straight campaigns in Rhinos colours make him the domestic pace attack's retained spine: the 10-lakh Category B buy from 2024 whose price the franchise has never had to reconsider.
Playing style and strengths
Airee is a right-arm medium-fast bowler who attacks the stumps, and the 14.80 T20I average is the style in numbers: he bowls to take wickets, not to contain. The stump-to-stump line brings bowled and lbw into every over, and at medium-fast pace the margin for the batter is thin — miss the line and the stumps are rearranged. Best figures of 3 for 15 say the burst is real: when the rhythm is right, he takes them in clusters.
In T20 phases, that wicket-taking profile fits the new ball and the middle overs — the periods where a breakthrough changes the innings' shape. Death bowling is the specialist's art and Chitwan has overseas options for it; Airee's value is earlier, in the powerplay swing and the middle-over strike that breaks a partnership before it costs twenty runs. Fifteen wickets from ten T20Is is a strike bowler's return, and the Rhinos have treated him as one for three seasons.
Kamal Singh Airee's role at Chitwan Rhinos in Season 3
Airee's Season 3 role is the domestic pace leader: the retained seamer around whom the auction-bought trio — Ashok Dhami, Gautam KC and Mausam Dhakal — must fight for places. The natural new-ball partnership is with Kaleem Sana, the overseas left-armer: right-arm stump-attack from one end, left-arm angle from the other, the classic two-paced examination of the powerplay. With Raza's off-spin and Malla's slow left-arm orthodox owning the spin overs, Airee is the pace core's domestic anchor — the bowler Malla can throw the new ball to without a second thought.
Three campaigns of retention have made him the attack's institutional memory: he knows the home surface, the evening conditions and the batters. In a squad rebuilt around a 15-lakh domestic splash (Bibek Yadav) and three overseas signings, Airee is the quiet constant — the leader of a pace unit that has to give the spinners something to defend.
