Ranjeet Kumar is a Nepal domestic cricketer who will represent Chitwan Rhinos in NPL Season 3. His valuation has been the steadiest in the squad: bought for NPR 3 lakh in 2024, bought again for 2 lakh in 2025, and retained outright for Season 3. Three straight seasons in Rhinos colours mark him as trusted. His playing role is not specified in the public record, so the honest read is the one the numbers give: reliability, three years running.
Six auction arrivals, headlined by Bibek Yadav's 15-lakh capture, want the XI places the retained core holds, and Kumar's edge is institutional knowledge of Rhinos systems. Season 3 asks whether gap-filling becomes a locked-in place in the Nepal Premier League 2026.
About Ranjeet Kumar
Ranjeet Kumar's valuation has been the steadiest in the squad: bought for NPR 3 lakh at the 2024 auction, bought again for NPR 2 lakh in 2025, and retained outright ahead of Season 3. Three straight seasons in Rhinos colours mark him as a role player the franchise trusts to do a defined job without fuss. Season 3 is about turning that trust into a regular XI place against six hungry auction arrivals.
The valuation tells the story in numbers: 3 lakh, then 2 lakh, then retention — bought, bought back, retained. In a squad coming off a two-win Season 2, every retained name is expected to justify the faith, and Kumar's three-season survival says the franchise keeps finding a use for him. The defined job without fuss is itself the credential: reliability, three years running.
Playing style and strengths
Kumar's public record does not specify a playing role, which makes the honest analysis about what three seasons of retention describe: a cricketer the franchise keeps finding a use for. In a sixteen-player squad with only three overseas signings, the domestics who survive every rebuild are rarely passengers — they are the flexible pieces, the players who train at match intensity, cover multiple selection scenarios, and step into the XI without the combination needing surgery. The defined job without fuss is itself the skill: reliability is a role.
That reliability has a selection logic. When the overseas trio — Bopara, Raza, Sana — and the marquee names lock down their slots, the remaining XI places go to domestics who fit the gaps: a bowling option here, late-order runs there, a fielder the captain trusts in the deep. Kumar's three-season survival says he has filled those gaps before. Season 3 asks whether gap-filling becomes a locked-in place — the difference between the squad's trusted reserve and its first-choice eleven.
Ranjeet Kumar's role at Chitwan Rhinos in Season 3
Kumar's Season 3 role is the veteran utility man in a squad suddenly crowded with newcomers. He is one of seven retained domestics — alongside Malla, Bohara, Airee, Khanal, Rijan Dhakal and Arjun Saud — and the six auction arrivals, headlined by Bibek Kumar Yadav's 15-lakh capture, all want the XI places the retained core currently holds. His edge is institutional: three seasons of Rhinos systems, two campaigns of league conditions, a captain in Kushal Malla who has shared a dressing room with him throughout.
The path to a regular place runs through versatility. With Bopara and Raza owning the all-rounder slots and the specialists holding theirs, Kumar's route is the flexible domestic — the name Malla writes in when the combination needs balancing rather than starring. Three seasons of trust say the franchise believes he can be that name; Season 3 is where he proves it weekly.
