About Arjun Kumal
Arjun Kumal is Pokhara Avengers' bet on the future, kept through the June 2026 retention window as part of the seven-player domestic core. The verified record does not specify his playing role, which makes his retention the whole story: in a summer when the franchise changed head coach and rebuilt around captain Kushal Bhurtel plus two overseas signings, the club looked at its young players and decided Kumal was one to keep.
For a young cricketer, there is no better classroom than the one Pokhara has assembled for Season 3. A month of training and match preparation alongside Shakib Al Hasan — 129 T20Is of all-round craft — Dhananjaya Lakshan and new head coach Ajantha Mendis is the kind of exposure domestic players usually wait years for. Kumal's Season 3 is an opportunity story: learn everything, impress daily, and be ready when the tournament's grind opens a door.

Playing style and strengths
With no listed role to analyse, Kumal's game is best understood through what retention demands of a young player. Franchise coaches keep prospects for three reasons: they see a technical base worth developing, they trust the temperament, and they believe the player makes the squad better in training. In a fifteen-player group, the youngest retained names are the standard-setters for intensity — they run the hardest in fielding drills, they bowl the extra overs in the nets, they keep the starters honest. Kumal's strength, on the available evidence, is coachability: the willingness to absorb a month of elite input and convert it into visible improvement.
His development arc has a clear shape. Training daily against Shakib's left-arm spin and alongside a new head coach in Mendis will test and sharpen whatever his primary discipline is. The honest assessment is that Kumal is a project with a purpose: Pokhara did not retain him to sit quietly. His game will be judged on trajectory, and the steepest trajectories belong to young players who treat every net session as a trial.
Arjun Kumal's role at Pokhara Avengers in Season 3
Arjun Kumal's role at Pokhara Avengers in Season 3 is the development brief inside a squad chasing its first playoff appearance. The starting XI will be built around the marquee names — Bhurtel, Shakib, Dhananjaya Lakshan, record buy Arjun Gharti — which means Kumal's first job is to make the match-day squad impossible to pick without him: train at a level that forces the coaches to find him a role, and stay ready for the moment form, injury or conditions demand a change.
His second job is to be a sponge. Few domestic cricketers get a full tournament sharing a dressing room with Shakib Al Hasan and a new head coach in Mendis; the players who profit are the ones who ask questions, watch closely and steal habits. Pokhara's rebuild is aimed at now, but Kumal is the franchise's investment in later — and the seasons that follow will show whether Season 3 was the making of him.
