Bipin Khatri is a Nepal cricketer who will represent Pokhara Avengers in NPL Season 3 after being retained through the June 2026 retention window as one of seven domestic players. The verified record does not specify his playing role, so the evidence is the decision itself: he held his place while the franchise changed head coach and added Shakib Al Hasan and Dhananjaya Lakshan as overseas headliners. Retention through continuity is one thing; retention through upheaval is a louder verdict.
In the Nepal Premier League 2026, Khatri brings home-ground familiarity that matters in a single-venue tournament at Kirtipur's TU Ground. He knows the routines and the surface; the new signings will take weeks to learn what he carries in.
About Bipin Khatri
Bipin Khatri survived Pokhara Avengers' rebuild — and that is the story. Kept through the June 2026 retention window as one of seven domestic players, he held his place while the franchise changed head coach, brought in Ajantha Mendis, and signed Shakib Al Hasan and Dhananjaya Lakshan as overseas headliners. Retention through continuity is one thing; retention through upheaval is a louder verdict.
The verified record does not specify Khatri's playing role, so the evidence is the decision itself: a full season of daily evaluation by coaches and management, ending with the conclusion that he belongs in Season 3. With every NPL fixture staged at Kirtipur's TU Ground, retained domestic players are also the squad's guides to its own home — the routines, the surface, the small edges a single-venue tournament rewards.

Playing style and strengths
Khatri's game has to be read through the filter he passed. When a franchise keeps seven domestic players and releases the rest, the survivors share traits the scorecards never show: reliability in training, standards in the field, and the temperament to handle a month-long tournament without fading. In a fifteen-player squad, those qualities are not soft extras — they are the difference between a group that prepares well and one that does not. Khatri's strength, on the available evidence, is professional substance: the all-round dependability that made him a keep through a coaching change.
His second asset is Kirtipur familiarity. Six auction buys and two overseas stars will spend the early weeks learning the ground; Khatri already knows it — the dimensions, the outfield pace, how the surface behaves across a tournament. Whatever his primary discipline, that knowledge converts into calmer cricket: better anticipation in the field, smarter running between wickets, fewer surprises. In a squad rebuilt for a first playoff appearance, calm is a competitive edge.
Bipin Khatri's role at Pokhara Avengers in Season 3
Bipin Khatri's role at Pokhara Avengers in Season 3 is continuity made useful. The XI's headline acts are set — captain Kushal Bhurtel, Shakib, Dhananjaya Lakshan, record signing Arjun Gharti — but tournaments are won by the players around them, and Khatri is one of the seven retained names the franchise trusts to hold the structure together. His brief is to compete for every XI on merit while being the squad member the coaches never worry about.
Practically, that means two things: be the standard in preparation, and be ready when the tournament turns. Form dips, niggles and tactical pivots are guaranteed across a league season; the retained domestic player who has seen it all before is the one a captain calls when the plan needs a steady hand. Khatri's Season 3 will be judged less on highlight reels than on whether Bhurtel and Mendis keep finding reasons to pick him.
