Two seasons of Nepal Premier League cricket have produced a clear set of batting benchmarks, with James Neesham leading the six-hitting charts, Rohit Paudel topping the fours list, and only three centuries scored in the league so far.

Neesham's six-hitting benchmark

The six-hitting record of the Nepal Premier League belongs, for now, to James Neesham. In the inaugural 2024 season, playing for Janakpur Bolts, the New Zealand all-rounder cleared the rope 23 times, a single-season mark that no batter has matched since. Across the first two editions his tally reaches 31 sixes, putting him clear at the top of the combined list and setting the standard every power-hitter in Season 3 will be measured against.

The closest single-season challenge came in 2025, when Karnali Yaks batter Mark Watt struck 21 sixes. Watt's season showed how quickly a batter can climb the combined charts, and his 21 sixes in one edition stand second only to Neesham's 23 from the inaugural year. The gap between the two men at the top of the combined list is therefore a story of one great season against two consistently powerful ones.

Pokhara Avengers batter Adam Rossington was next in 2025 with 19 sixes, underlining how the second season spread power-hitting across more teams and more batting orders.

Rohit Paudel and the fours chart

If sixes belong to Neesham, fours belong to Nepal captain Rohit Paudel. He has struck 44 fours across the first two editions, hitting 26 in 2024 and another 18 in 2025, a model of consistency in a league where overseas power-hitters tend to grab the headlines. His lead is narrow, though, which makes the fours chart one of the most open records going into Season 3.

Sudurpaschim Royals batter Binod Bhandari sits second with 42 fours, just two behind Rohit, followed by Janakpur Bolts batter Lahiru Milantha with 38 and Chitwan Rhinos batter Ravi Bopara with 36.

Rossington led the fours chart within the 2025 season itself, hitting 31 boundaries along the ground. He scored 323 runs in seven matches to finish as the tournament's leading run-scorer, and counting his sixes he struck 50 boundaries in all during the season. That combination of volume and consistency is why his 2025 campaign stands as the outstanding individual batting season the league has seen.

Three centuries in two seasons

For all the boundary-hitting, centuries have remained rare in the NPL. Only three batters have reached three figures across the first two editions, which makes each of the three innings a landmark in the young league's history rather than a routine milestone.

The first century belonged to Pokhara Avengers batter Andries Gous, who scored an unbeaten 104 against Lumbini Lions in the inaugural season, reaching his hundred off 55 balls. Gous set the template: a fast start, sustained acceleration, and a finish that left the opposition with no way back.

The 2025 edition produced the other two centuries. Watt scored 114 for Karnali Yaks, the highest individual score among the three centuries, while Rossington made an unbeaten 108 for Pokhara Avengers against Karnali Yaks. Watt's 114 off 44 balls and Rossington's 108 not out off 58 balls showed two different routes to the same landmark, one built on pure power and the other on a steadier accumulation that still finished well above a run a ball.

Half-centuries and consistency

Below the centuries, the half-century charts tell a story of reliability rather than single great days. Bopara led the way in the inaugural edition with three fifties, the most by any batter in that season, and he added another half-century in the second season to underline his staying power at the top of the Chitwan Rhinos order.

The 2025 season spread the fifties more widely. Rossington, Priyank Panchal of Karnali Yaks, Bhandari of Sudurpaschim Royals and Kushal Bhurtel of Pokhara Avengers each scored two half-centuries, a group that mixes overseas experience with Nepali batting depth.

Taken together, the records paint a league still finding its batting identity. The sixes and fours charts reward the players who have been there from the start, the century list remains short enough that every new hundred will make news, and the half-century counts show a growing base of batters who can regularly shape a match without necessarily dominating it.

Records awaiting Season 3

Season 3, which begins on October 26 with defending champions Lumbini Lions facing Sudurpaschim Royals at the TU International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, gives the next generation of batters a fresh set of marks to chase. Every Season 3 fixture is listed on the NPL schedule, and with the tournament now carrying official T20 status, the runs scored from the opener onwards will count in the players' official career records.

That official standing raises the stakes for the record chasers. Neesham's 31 sixes and Rohit's 44 fours are no longer just league trivia, they are benchmarks inside a recognised T20 competition, and the three-century list is short enough that the fourth century in NPL history will be a genuine event.
