Bibek Kumar Rana Magar is a Nepal batter who will represent Pokhara Avengers in NPL Season 3 after joining at the July 6, 2026 auction for NPR 2.75 lakh. The middle-band price marked him as a specific purchase: batting depth for a squad whose marquee names - captain Kushal Bhurtel, Shakib Al Hasan and Dhananjaya Lakshan - were already in place. Listed as a batter, his brief is defined by what surrounds him: cover when the big names cannot deliver.
In the Nepal Premier League 2026, Rana Magar's task is to turn a modest auction punt into selection pressure, with runs in the practice games and a middle order ready to hold an innings together when the headlines falter.
About Bibek Kumar Rana Magar
Bibek Kumar Rana Magar joined Pokhara Avengers at the July 6, 2026 auction for NPR 2.75 lakh, a middle-band price that says the franchise saw a specific job for him. Listed as a batter, he was signed into a squad whose marquee batting names — captain Kushal Bhurtel, Shakib Al Hasan and Dhananjaya Lakshan — were already in place, which defines his brief precisely: domestic batting depth, ready to bat when the big names cannot.
Pokhara's rebuild is aimed at a first playoff appearance after two misses, and depth signings like Rana Magar are how tournaments are actually won — not in the auction headlines but in the quiet overs when a middle-order batter holds an innings together. His Season 3 task is to turn a 2.75-lakh punt into selection pressure: score in the practice games, stay ready, and make the coaches argue about including him.

Playing style and strengths
Rana Magar's listed role is batter, though his batting hand is not specified in verified reports — so his game is best read through the demands of the slot he was bought for. A middle-band auction batter in a fifteen-player squad is expected to do one of two jobs: anchor an innings when early wickets fall, or finish one when the platform is set. Either way the technical requirements are the same — a tight defence to survive quality spin, and the ability to rotate strike when boundaries dry up at Kirtipur.
His strength has to be adaptability. Behind Bhurtel's aggression, Shakib's experience and Lakshan's left-handed variety, Rana Magar is the batter the team calls when the plan breaks — and the players who thrive in that role are the ones with no fixed ego about batting position or tempo. The NPR 2.75 lakh price suggests the scouts saw innings-building substance rather than highlight-reel hitting; his game is about being the right answer to an awkward question.
Bibek Kumar Rana Magar's role at Pokhara Avengers in Season 3
Bibek Kumar Rana Magar's role at Pokhara Avengers in Season 3 is domestic batting insurance. The XI's top order picks itself — Bhurtel leads, Shakib and Dhananjaya Lakshan provide the overseas all-round core, and keeper Arjun Gharti holds the middle — which leaves Rana Magar competing for the remaining batting slots with the reality that one injury or loss of form changes everything. His path to the XI runs through readiness: be the best-prepared batter outside the team, every week.
Tactically, he gives Bhurtel and Mendis something the marquee names cannot: a like-for-like domestic swap. If an overseas combination needs rebalancing, or if Kirtipur's surface demands an extra batter, Rana Magar is the plug-and-play option who knows the squad's plans from the inside. In a tournament decided by small margins, the franchises that reach playoffs are the ones whose seventh batter could be anyone's fifth — and that is the standard his season will be measured against.
