Bipin Acharya is a Nepal allrounder who will represent Pokhara Avengers in NPL Season 3 after being signed at the July 6, 2026 auction for the NPR 2 lakh base price. It was the cheapest kind of squad investment, but it was deliberate: with Shakib Al Hasan and Dhananjaya Lakshan already holding the two overseas all-rounder slots, Acharya was bought as flexible domestic cover for the team's most important tactical roles.
In the Nepal Premier League 2026, his brief is the classic squad-player assignment - push the starters in training, stay ready in both disciplines, and be the answer when the XI needs reshaping. Rebuilds are won by depth as much as by stars, and Acharya is Pokhara's insurance.
About Bipin Acharya
Bipin Acharya was Pokhara Avengers' base-price two-way punt at the July 6, 2026 auction — NPR 2 lakh for a listed allrounder, the cheapest kind of squad investment a franchise can make. But cheap does not mean thoughtless: Acharya was signed into a squad already carrying two elite all-rounders in Shakib Al Hasan and Dhananjaya Lakshan, which tells you exactly what Pokhara bought — flexible cover for the most important tactical slots in the team.
His Season 3 brief is the classic squad-player assignment: push the starters in training, stay ready across both disciplines, and be the answer when the XI needs reshaping. Around him, the franchise rebuilt for a first playoff appearance under captain Kushal Bhurtel and new head coach Ajantha Mendis; Acharya's job is to make sure the rebuild never runs short of options.

Playing style and strengths
Acharya's listed role is allrounder, though neither his batting hand nor bowling style is specified in verified reports — so the honest analysis is about what two-way depth requires. A base-price all-rounder is not expected to win games in either discipline; he is expected to be competent in both, so the captain never loses a tactical option. That means a bowling action reliable enough for overs at Kirtipur without leaking, and a batting game organised enough to hold an end or find late boundaries when the innings needs it.
His real strength is balance-sheet value. In a fifteen-player squad with only two overseas all-round slots — occupied by Shakib and Lakshan — Acharya is the domestic player who lets Bhurtel and Mendis imagine different XIs: an extra bowling option without weakening the batting, or a batting reinforcement who can still bowl. Versatility is his discipline, and in tournament cricket, the versatile player is often the last name cut and the first name called.
Bipin Acharya's role at Pokhara Avengers in Season 3
Bipin Acharya's role at Pokhara Avengers in Season 3 is the all-round understudy. Shakib Al Hasan and Dhananjaya Lakshan will occupy the two overseas all-round berths in the strongest XI, which puts Acharya first in line whenever those slots need cover — a niggle, a tactical reshuffle, or a Kirtipur surface that demands a different bowling mix. His season is about being the seamless replacement: same two-way function, no drop in intensity.
There is a second, quieter role. New head coach Mendis is reshaping an attack and a batting order at the same time; in training, Acharya is the player who can fill any net — bowl to the top order, bat against the spinners, field in the deep. Squad players like him decide whether a tournament squad feels like fifteen individuals or one unit, and Pokhara's playoff push will need the unit.
