Sudip Aryal is a Nepal bowler who will represent Pokhara Avengers in NPL Season 3 after being bought at the July 6, 2026 auction for NPR 3 lakh. That price carried a deliberate premium - fifty percent above the base price - and signals how highly the franchise rates his wicket-taking ability. Franchises do not overpay by accident, and somebody in Pokhara's recruitment room had clearly seen Aryal do something worth paying extra for.
In the Nepal Premier League 2026, he joins an attack being reshaped under new head coach Ajantha Mendis, with Shakib Al Hasan's spin and Sagar Dhakal's finger-spin anchoring the slow-bowling unit at Kirtipur. His season will be judged on breakthroughs, not just overs bowled.
About Sudip Aryal
Sudip Aryal cost Pokhara Avengers NPR 3 lakh at the July 6, 2026 auction — a deliberate premium on a domestic bowler, fifty percent above the base price, and the clearest signal of the window about how the franchise rates his wicket-taking ability. Franchises do not overpay by accident; somebody in Pokhara's recruitment room had seen Aryal do something worth paying extra for.
Listed as a bowler, he joins an attack being reshaped under new head coach Ajantha Mendis, with Shakib Al Hasan's spin and Sagar Dhakal's finger-spin anchoring the slow-bowling unit at Kirtipur. Aryal's Season 3 task is the simplest and hardest in cricket: convert auction faith into overs that matter — breakthroughs, not just overs bowled.

Playing style and strengths
Aryal's listed role is bowler, though his bowling style is not specified in verified reports — but the NPR 3 lakh price tag is itself a scouting report. Teams pay premiums for one thing in T20 auctions: wickets. That marks him, in the franchise's eyes, as a strike bowler rather than a containing one — the bowler a captain throws the ball to when the game needs changing, not when it needs slowing. The technical demands of that role are unforgiving: the courage to attack with the new ball, the skill to execute at the death, and the temperament to keep coming back after going for runs.
His strength has to be impact in short bursts. Strike bowlers live on moments — the powerplay breakthrough that exposes a middle order, the double-wicket over that flips a chase. At Kirtipur, where Shakib and Dhakal will own the middle overs, Aryal's windows are likelier to be the phases around them: early movement, late yorkers, the high-leverage overs. The franchise paid for a difference-maker; his game must be built to make differences.
Sudip Aryal's role at Pokhara Avengers in Season 3
Sudip Aryal's role at Pokhara Avengers in Season 3 is the domestic strike bowler — the home-grown wicket-taker in an attack headlined by Shakib Al Hasan's control. With the spin overs largely spoken for by Shakib and Sagar Dhakal at Kirtipur, Aryal's likeliest brief is the high-impact phases: the new ball, where early wickets set the tone, and the death, where nerve decides games. That is where NPR 3 lakh of faith gets tested.
Tactically, he is what makes Bhurtel's attack balanced. Shakib gives the captain control; Aryal must give him penetration — and a captain who trusts both can attack for twenty overs instead of surviving them. Working under Mendis, a new head coach with his own reputation for out-thinking batters, Aryal has the right environment for a strike bowler's education. If Pokhara's playoff push happens, expect his breakthroughs to be all over the highlights.
