Sunny BK is a Nepal cricketer who will represent Pokhara Avengers in NPL Season 3, signed at the July 6, 2026 auction for NPR 2 lakh. He was the last name on the franchise's shopping list, completing a fifteen-player squad: seven retained players, six auction buys and two overseas signings. With his playing role unspecified in verified reports, he is the unknown of the Season 3 group.
In the Nepal Premier League 2026, last picked is not least valued: the fifteenth name is one injury, one tactical switch or one loss of form from the XI. Sunny's season is the purest opportunity story in the group - train like a starter and force the coaches to learn his name quickly.
About Sunny BK
Sunny BK was the last name on Pokhara Avengers' domestic shopping list — signed at the July 6, 2026 auction for NPR 2 lakh, completing a fifteen-player squad built from seven retained domestic players, six auction buys and two overseas signings. The public record does not specify his playing role, which makes him the true unknown of the Season 3 group: the final piece of a rebuild aimed at a first playoff appearance.
But last picked does not mean least valued. In a fifteen-player tournament squad, the fifteenth name is one injury, one tactical switch or one loss of form from the XI — closer to playing than anyone outside the group. Sunny's Season 3 is the purest opportunity story in the squad: arrive unknown, train like a starter, and force the coaches to learn his name quickly.

Playing style and strengths
With no specified role in verified reports, Sunny's game must be read through the economics of his signing. The last domestic pick in an auction is almost always bought for adaptability — the player who can fill whichever gap the tournament opens, rather than the specialist who fills only one. In a fifteen-player squad, that means being ready across disciplines: useful in the field from day one, capable with bat or ball at short notice, and professional enough that the coaches trust him cold.
His strength, by necessity, is hunger. Players signed for the base price at the end of an auction carry the clearest motivation in professional cricket: everything to prove, nothing to lose. The ones who convert that into careers share a trait — they treat every training session as a trial and every net as an audition. Sunny's game will be judged on trajectory rather than reputation, and the steepest trajectories in franchise cricket belong to players nobody was watching.
Sunny BK's role at Pokhara Avengers in Season 3
Sunny BK's role at Pokhara Avengers in Season 3 is the squad's wildcard — the fifteenth player in a group where every member matters. The XI's core is settled around captain Kushal Bhurtel, Shakib Al Hasan, Dhananjaya Lakshan, keeper Arjun Gharti and spinner Sagar Dhakal, which means Sunny's first job is the same as every fringe player's: make himself impossible to ignore in training, master the game plans, and be ready when the tournament's attrition calls his number.
His second value is to the group itself. New head coach Ajantha Mendis is building a culture as well as a team, and culture is set by the players with the least security — if the fifteenth man trains like a starter, everyone does. Pokhara's rebuild is aimed at a first playoff appearance, and playoff squads are never eleven players deep. Sunny's season succeeds the moment Bhurtel can pick him without a second thought.
